Assistant Director of Economic Development
Joey Grisham has served as Assistant Director of Economic Development for the City of Rowlett Texas since December 2016. His primary responsibilities include: business recruitment; business retention/expansion; and helping oversee the Economic Development Advisory Board.
Prior to his arrival in Rowlett, Joey worked in other Texas cities including Hutto, Keller, Irving, and Granbury where he worked on projects like the Tesla Gigafactory Project, McKesson ($200 million project), Atos SE, CEC Companies, and many others.
Joey has been in the economic development arena for 18 years and has a very diverse background having worked on several different projects including manufacturing, customer service centers, distribution, office, corporate headquarters, retail, downtown development, and mixed-use developments. He also spent time as an economic consultant where he performed several strategic plans/strategies, retail market studies, and SWOT analyses for communities across the country.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi, a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Memphis, and a Master of Science degree in Economic Development from the University of Southern Mississippi and is a member of the International Economic Development Council, Texas Economic Development Council, and the International Council of Shopping Centers.
