City of Rowlett Hires New Downtown Manager

Today the City of Rowlett Economic Development Department announced the hiring of Melinda H. Bartram as the organization’s new Downtown Manager in the City of Rowlett, Texas.

Bartram comes to Rowlett with 10 years of experience in business economic revitalization and historic preservation in numerous locations in Oklahoma and Texas. She is a Certified Main Street Manager (CMSM) through the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington, D.C.

Melinda has strong marketing and communications expertise having served in senior marketing and strategy roles with numerous cities and organizations in the state of Texas. Bartram most recently served as the Marketing Communication Specialist and Public Information Officer with the Denton County Transportation Authority.

“We are excited to have Melinda join the Rowlett Economic Development team in this new position,” said Libbey Tucker, CEcD, Director of Economic Development for Rowlett. “She brings 28 years of professional experience in main street and downtown development, communications and marketing, event planning and extensive knowledge from working with numerous communities through the National Main Street Center. Melinda’s expertise and skills will be extremely valuable for further development and growth in Downtown Rowlett.”

As the Manager for Downtown Rowlett, Melinda will focus on rebranding, updating the Downtown Strategic Plan, and business attraction and retention.

I’ve watched Downtown Rowlett develop over the years and it’s a place I’ve longed to serve. I know we have great things planned for the future of the district and I’m eager to meet all the downtown business owners, property owners and stakeholders.”
