The Mission of the Economic Development Advisory Board is to advise and support strategies to ensure a sustainable business environment.

The Board is comprised of seven regular members, four of whom are appointed by the City Council. These four include the Mayor or Mayor's designee, a City Councilmember and two citizens. The City Councilmember and Mayor shall be selected for one-year terms. The citizen members shall serve staggered two-year terms. The other three members are selected by the Rowlett Area Chamber and Visitors Center and serve one-year terms; one of which shall be the current Chamber of Commerce Chair (or the Chair's designee if the Chair is unable to attend), and the other two shall be appointed by the Chamber annually.
