Rowlett is located 19 miles East of Downtown Dallas on the beautiful shores of Lake Ray Hubbard. During the past several years, Rowlett has undertaken several transformative transportation projects: The President George Bush Turnpike (PGBT) Eastern Extension and Dallas Area Rapid Transit's (DART) Light Rail Blue Line. The PGBT provides quick and easy access to Firewheel Town Center, Richardson (Telecom Corridor), and Plano/Frisco, and cuts through the heart of Rowlett opening up sites all along the way for development. The largest area available for development is 1,000 acres in the North Shore Commercial District which will house office, medical, light industrial, retail and other commercial development. In addition to the North Shore District, the Village of Rowlett Downtown is primed for development.
